Shelly has worked in the field of counseling since 1995 when she earned her Master’s in Counseling Psychology from the UNF Psychology Department. She worked as a full-time counselor at a community mental health center where she gained extensive experience in treating PTSD, Anxiety, Depression, ADHD, Mood Disorders, and other mental health issues.

Shelly has worked as a Clinical Manager of Outpatient Services for Children and Adults. There she maintained her clinical work as well as successfully supervising her outpatient staff towards Florida licensure before making the move into private practice. Shelly has experience in individual, couples, family, and group therapy work that include a number of certifications and specialized trainings in EMDR, Play Therapy, Prolonged Exposure Therapy (PE), Trauma Focused Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (TF-CBT) and Structured Psychotherapy for Adolescents Responding to Chronic Stress (SPARCS) with a sensitivity towards trauma-informed care.
