Mary Kay Young is a Licensed Mental Health Counselor with a Master’s in Counseling Education.  She brings an extensive background to psychotherapy with children, teens and adults and has been in the field of mental health for 28 years. Her areas of specialty include:  abuse, anxiety, autism, bipolar disorder, children of divorce, depression, developmental delay, grief, individual and family issues, personal growth, PTSD, school related problems and trauma.

Past history includes twelve years as a Guidance Counselor, five years as a Homicide Survivor specialist, ten years contracted with the Child Protection Team as a specialized sexual abuse therapist, plus group and individual therapist for children and adults.  She works with children from age 2 through high school and adults from 18 to Seniors.

Utilizing several methods of therapy, Mary Kay, successfully uses Cognitive Behavioral Therapy, EMDR (Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing), TF-CBT (Trauma Focused Cognitive Behavioral Therapy), Sand Tray Therapy and Play Therapy techniques.
