Larry has a Doctor of Ministry degree in chaplaincy from Liberty University and two master’s degrees (Mental health counseling and religious education) from Liberty and Loyola Universities, respectively. Larry is a U.S. Army/National Guard veteran (31 years) who also spent 42 years in journalism. Larry’s military service includes a tour in Vietnam as an Army combat engineer and on the staff of the Florida National Guard Military Academy among other assignments. As a journalist, Larry worked for newspapers in Panama City, FL, Tallahassee, and Jacksonville. He received several awards for his reporting and writing.
In addition, Larry is a Commissioned Lay Chaplain under the Special Jurisdiction of the Armed Forces and Chaplaincy of the Anglican Church of North America, and an oblate in the lay Order of Saint Martin of Tours. Larry is also a state-approved supervisor of Registered Mental Health Interns and oversees Grace House’s college intern program.
Larry’s counseling interests include biblical and spiritual guidance; military issues, including career and retirement concerns; combat trauma (PTSD); intrapersonal relationships, including issues relating to marriage and dating, adolescents; young adults; and parenting and life transitions such as grief divorce, empty nest, and remarriage.
