Margaret Rose Glenn was born while her father was stationed at Fort Bragg, North Carolina. She is an Army “brat” and has traveled this country and the world extensively. She has been practicing social work since 1988. She has a Bachelor’s Degree in Elementary Education (University of Georgia, 1970) and a Master’s Degree in Clinical Social Work (Florida State University, 1988). She has more than 9 years experience in outpatient mental health, with 6 years in Gerontology and 3 years providing therapy to clients of all ages. Margaret Rose then worked with a hospice in Hillsborough County for more than 9 years and a hospice in Duval and Clay Counties for more than 6 years.

In 2002, Margaret Rose (along with Rosalyn Olsen, LCSW) co-presented a workshop in Bipolar Disorder at the National Hospice Conference in New Orleans. Margaret Rose has had an article published in Thanatos ( A Realistic Journal Concerning Dying, Death & Bereavement) in 1991. She also had two poems published in the Journal of Poetry Therapy in 2005. Margaret Rose attended the Ringling College of Art and Design, where she completed a 3 year program and earned a certificate in Art and Healing in 2009, and she is an expressive arts therapist.

Margaret Rose has specialty credentials in Gerontology and in Advanced Hospice and Palliative Care and is also a Diplomate in Clinical Social Work. Margaret Rose has extensive experience in working with older adults and their caregivers and family members, and with those who have a terminal illness. She has provided therapy for the bereaved and is able to work with individuals, families and groups. Margaret Rose has a special interest and love for expressive art, and can use this in the context of therapy with any client who is open or has an inclination toward art and creativity.

Margaret Rose is certified as an EMDR therapist and uses this technique primarily in the treatment of trauma. It has also been helpful with the bereaved and with treatment of depression or anxiety related to trauma that may have occurred early in life.

Margaret Rose has a special concern for military personnel and their families and also for married couples who are struggling in their relationships. She is especially flexible in working with military couples who are experiencing difficulties around deployments and the challenges that the military lifestyle can bring.
