<image:caption>George is a Licensed Mental Health Counselor in Florida and a National Certified Counselor with the National Board of Certified Counselors. He has a Master of Arts in Counseling from LeTourneau University (Longview, Texas), a Master of Divinity from Southwestern Baptist Theological Seminary (Fort Worth, Texas) and a Doctor of Ministry from Fuller Theological Seminary (Pasadena, California). George’s experience in behavioral/mental health began in 1993 working in a residential treatment center for abused children in Texas. In that setting he learned how to understand personal pain and the impact of trauma in a compassionate and non-judgmental way. He also draws upon 29 years’ experience and expertise as a Navy Chaplain providing counseling and spiritual care to persons in combat zones, military hospitals, ships, and installations in the United States and overseas. George believes that counseling is a collaborative process where both counselor and client work together in identifying issues and establishing therapy goals to facilitate personal growth and healing. He offers counseling and guidance from a biblical perspective. His areas of focus include:  Anxiety and depression  Military and veteran issues  Relationship challenges and issues  Spiritual issues  “Seasons of life” concerns such as mid-life and grief While our relationship with our problems is always a deeply personal one, the Bible teaches that there is “nothing new under the sun” (Ecclesiastes 1:9); we are all fragile people in a broken world. Yet, God is eager to enter into the midst of our complicated lives as we “obtain guidance” (Proverbs 1:5) that is grounded in His wisdom and will lead us in “the way we should go” (Psalm 32:8). In sessions with George, you can expect a collaborative and confidential space to explore your thoughts and feelings. George is a member of the American Association of Christian Counselors. He and his wife Sheila have three children. Office Phone: (904) 269-0886 ext. 113 E-mail: gmendes@mail.com</image:caption>

She has a Master of Arts degree in Biblical Counseling from Dallas Theological Seminary in Dallas, Texas and completed an independent study on the Dynamics of Furthering Growth based upon The Cloud-Townsend Therapeutic Model. Life can change in an instant. Unexpected life events and unforeseen circumstances can shake the very foundation of our lives and shatter our illusions of control. A multitude of unanticipated events can negatively impact our lives, destroy our sense of safety, impair our mental health, and complicate our interpersonal relationships. Many times, families and friends struggle to provide the support and direction we need during the turbulent seasons of life. It takes strength and courage to reach out for help but the benefits of taking that risk can lead to new insight, personal growth, and a renewed sense of purpose. When life is overwhelming it is important to have a place where you feel safe enough to process thoughts, feelings, and reactions to the circumstances that have impacted your life. After years of consulting and providing training in the healthcare industry, Lorrie realized that she could utilize her knowledge and life experiences to assist others in their healing journeys. Having been in private practice for over five years, Lorrie strives to create a warm, calm, and relaxing environment. She believes trust and confidentiality are imperative foundational elements to achieve therapeutic gains and utilizes integrative therapeutic approaches to develop effective, individualized treatment plans in working with her clients. Lorrie has special interests in assisting others to navigate unanticipated life events and unforeseen circumstances; personal growth and transformation; and the emerging field of integrating psychotherapy with personal finances. She has assisted women who might be pregnant, worried and unsure of their next steps to address their frustrations and concerns, and explore their possible options. Areas of focus include: Anxiety and depression Coping skills Emotional disturbances Financial counseling Grief Life transitions Marriage and couples counseling Personal growth and transformation Self-esteem and self-worth Spiritual issues Stress Trauma and PTSD Women’s issues “We are all faced with a series of great opportunities brilliantly disguised as impossible situations.” Charles Swindoll</image:caption>
